ROCKY MOUNTAIN BEAUTY
My wedding season this year started exceptionally early and for a woman who loves fair-weather (let's be honest -- HOT weather), it was a bit of a system shock. However, I will say that without a doubt, our Canadian winter provided one of the most beautiful backdrops for this stunning couple on their special day.
With heavy snowfall the evening before, the mountain tops were covered in fresh, abundant snowfall. The air was crisp and lent to blushed, cold kissed cheeks and a healthy case of goosebumps. The bustle of tourism in downtown Banff was abundant and eyes consistently sought out our gorgeous bride and groom. With a love that could be felt overflowing even within their quiet shared glances, it's no wonder they had captured the peoples attention.
Zari and Cam pledged their love and future to one another during their ceremony in one of the most iconic churches of Banff, St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. With light dancing through the windows of the building and warmly caressing all gathered within, the atmosphere was rich with love. A final toll of the church bells rang out across the town to announce their newly founded status as husband and wife (rang by the couple themselves as tradition within the small Church).
An interlude to the nearby mountains created the most exquisite backdrop to Zari and Cam's wedding portraits. Accompanied by their wedding party, we were able to shoot stealthily with parkas on and off between each camera click. Despite the cold, Zari and Cam embraced the moment and were absolute champs, both enduring the cold while still smiling and laughing with everyone at ease. The knowledge that a warm meal and evening surrounded by friends and family following their wedding portraits likely helped!
We joined with family and friends at the Bluebird Wood Fired Steakhouse to finalize our evening once the sun began its final descent. Softly lit with rustic decor, the Bluebird was a gorgeous finale for the couple to be welcomed back into a warm embrace by their loved ones.
