FAMILY, FRIENDSHIP + FALLING LEAVES
Some sessions feel less like work and more like a gentle continuation of life -- this was one of those days. Mellissa, Kevin and Ella are not just clients; they are family friends whose story has been woven into ours over the years. What began as a chance connection -- our children landing on the same soccer team and the happy discovery that we lived just a few houses apart -- slowly grew into something steadier and more meaningful. The kind of friendship built in driveways, on sidelines and through the quiet rhythms of everyday life. Their support and kindness have never gone unnoticed and it was an honour to capture a season of their story.
We met on a beautiful autumn afternoon in Okotoks, Alberta, where fall was showing off in all its splendour. The leaves were resplendent -- golden, copper, and deep crimson -- clinging to branches as if reluctant to let go. The air carried that unmistakable crispness, the kind that hints at change, at colder days ahead and the closing of one chapter before another begins. It was the perfect backdrop for a family rooted in warmth and connection.
As the light softened and filtered through the trees, Mellissa, Kevin and Ella moved together with an ease that only comes from years of shared moments.
