LOVE ACROSS THE DISTANCE
Joey and Michael reached out a few months before their wedding, with a clear vision: to capture a story of love that had endured distance, separation during Covid, and time apart --a love 14 years in the making.
Their story began online, where friendship quickly blossomed into romance. A long-distance relationship from Canada to the United States tested their patience and resolve, but it also built a foundation of trust, loyalty and unwavering devotion. That resilience, combined with their kindness and compassion toward one another, was evident in every glance, every laugh and every quiet moment they shared during their engagement session. Their connection is the kind of love that grows deeper with every challenge, and it radiated effortlessly throughout the shoot.
We met at Bebo Grove in Fish Creek Park in Calgary, a location that perfectly reflected their story. Towering pines created a cathedral-like canopy above, while a gentle river meandered nearby, adding movement and serenity to the scene. The open spaces allowed them to move freely, playfully interact and feel completely at ease, giving the images a natural, organic quality.
Throughout the session, we captured a mix of quiet, tender moments and joyful, playful energy. From strolling along the riverbank hand in hand, to laughing beneath the towering trees, every frame reflected the depth of their bond and the story of love and perseverance that brought them here. Soft sunlight filtering through the branches created a warm, golden glow, while the sounds of the forest added a serene backdrop to their story.
