SKATEBOARDS AND SNUGGLES
K and N had reached out nearly a year in advance to book their July wedding, but with life moving fast, we didn’t schedule their engagement session until about a month before the big day. The timing, however, couldn’t have been more perfect. The couple wanted a mix of editorial and candid-style images, shot both inside their home and throughout their neighbourhood and the session became a joyful celebration of their unique connection.
Walking into their home, I was immediately drawn to the quirky, eccentric details scattered throughout -- a reflection of their vibrant personalities and playful energy. K and N’s love was warm, authentic and endearing, evident in the way they laughed together and exchanged glances that spoke volumes. It felt like this session was a beautiful preview of their wedding day, filled with the joy, creativity, and connection that define their relationship.
We began with a musical moment on the couch, joined by their pup, a perfect touch of playful intimacy. From there, we moved through whimsical spaces -- a few candid shots in the laundry room, and creative setups that reflected their personalities, from props to unexpected angles, using light and movement in ways that made each frame feel editorial and inspired. One of my favourite moments of the day: N gliding on his skateboard while K ran alongside him, eyes locked in a gaze so full of adoration it felt almost tangible.
This session was a perfect blend of personal storytelling, creative expression, and heartfelt connection -- a reminder that love shines brightest when it’s authentic, inventive and completely their own.
